What Are Their Beliefs?

They believe in spirits that inhabit natural elements such as trees, rivers, and mountains, and they perform rituals to honor these spirits and seek protection from harm. Ancestor worship is another central aspect of their spiritual life, with offerings made to ensure harmony between the living and the dead.

Buddhism has also influenced their spiritual practices, and many Pidayne Danno worship Buddhist deities incorporating elements of Buddhist festivals and rituals into their traditions. These blended beliefs create a spiritual framework that guides their community life.

There is also a small Christian minority among the Pidayne Danno people. With guidance, they can lead their people into a rich relationship with the Lord.

What Are Their Needs?

The Pidayne Danno people face several challenges, particularly related to economic instability and access to modern resources. Their remote location limits their access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities, leaving many in the community vulnerable to poverty and poor living conditions. Traditional farming methods are becoming less sustainable due to environmental changes, putting additional strain on their livelihoods.

There is an urgent need for development programs that focus on improving access to education, healthcare and sustainable farming techniques. These programs should be sensitive to the Pidayne Danno's traditional way of life while providing the tools and resources needed to adapt to modern challenges. Access to clean water, healthcare services and market opportunities for their agricultural products would significantly improve their quality of life.
